The Triple Crown - Kentucky Derby, Preakness, Belmont Stakes

It is the greatest accomplishment in thoroughbred racing and winning all three legs of the Triple Crown (The Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes) may be one of the hardest things to do in all of sports. In the 125-year history only 11 horses have been able to pull off the fete. Affirmed was the last horse to do it in 1978, and the 30 years since has been the longest streak without a Triple Crown winner in history.
